Meet Dr. Joy Wang



Dr. Joy Wang, DMD, MD, MPH

Oral Surgeon in Sunnyvale

Dr. Joy Wang has always been deeply concerned about the welfare of her patients. Her education, formal training, experience, and passion for life-long learning all contribute to giving patients the best possible care. Dr. Joy Wang obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry at the University of California, Davis, and her doctorate in dental medicine at Harvard University. While at Harvard, Dr. Wang went overseas for externship training in England as well as two dental training rotations working for the United Nations High Commission for Refugees in Vietnam & Hong Kong. Her experiences in Asia and her heightened awareness of health care issues, not only abroad, but also within the United States, led her to complete her master’s degree in public health in addition to her doctorate in dental medicine at Harvard.

Dr. Wang then went on to obtain her medical degree at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). She completed her residency in oral & maxillofacial surgery as well as a year of general surgery training. After her residency training, Dr. Wang went into private practice and currently has an oral surgery practice in Sunnyvale, California.

Dr. Wang is Board Certified in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and has been published in various publications, including the Journal of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, the journal published by the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons. She enjoys learning about new techniques, developments and products for the improvement of dental care for her patients and imparting that knowledge to other oral surgeons and dentists through the lectures she gives at various study club meetings.
